Where are my receipts stored?

Receipt images are saved as JPEGs in the iOS Files app at On My iPhone → ReceiptVault → Receipts → [Year]. Metadata (vendor, amount, IRS fields) is stored in a local database inside the App.

Does my data leave my iPhone?

No. Receipt images, OCR text, and expense data are processed and stored entirely on your device. The App never uploads receipts to a server. See our Privacy Policy for details on the limited cases where third-party services are used (Sign in with Apple, App Store billing, optional email forwarding, currency rates, ads in the free tier).

What happens to my receipts if I delete the App?

The Files app folder at On My iPhone → ReceiptVault → Receipts remains on your device with all your saved JPEGs intact. The App's internal metadata database is removed when the App is deleted. We recommend exporting a CSV from Settings → Data → Export Full History before deleting.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Vault for Receipts → Cancel Subscription. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.

How do I restore a previous purchase on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple ID you used originally, install Vault for Receipts, then open Settings → Account → Restore Purchases. Apple will verify your active subscription and re-enable Premium features.

How do I get a refund?

Refund requests must be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not have the ability to issue refunds; Apple processes all subscription billing.

The scanner isn't finding receipts in my library. What should I check?

GPS mileage tracking isn't working in the background.

Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Vault for Receipts → set to Always. "While Using" only tracks while the App is in the foreground.

OCR extracted the wrong vendor name or amount.

Tap the receipt to open the detail view, then tap any field to edit. Your corrections are saved locally and improve future detection when you tap ⋯ → Learn from My Receipts.

I forwarded an email receipt but it didn't appear in the App.

Forwarded receipts can take 1–2 minutes to process. Verify your personal receipts@ address is correct in Settings, and confirm your email provider permits forwarding to external addresses. If the issue persists, email support@receiptvault.pro with the subject of the forwarded email.

How do I delete my account?

If you used Sign in with Apple, open Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the App. This removes any sync state tied to your Apple ID. To remove all data, also delete the App from your device and clear the Files app folder at On My iPhone → ReceiptVault.
